That’s a wrap
So it’s all over, I can’t believe it. What am I going to do without Jim? Well we might not be making any more videos together but I am certainly going to remember all the things I’ve learned over the last few months and will make sure I keep putting them into practice as time goes on. Remember you can check back in here at any time to watch the videos we made and refresh the memory, just in case things start getting a bit hazy in a few months time.
There’s a lot to remember so to make it easy for you here are my top 5 “getting started” tips:
1) The immersion. More feared in Ireland than a dose of swine flu, Jedward and economic meltdown put together! No need to be afraid anymore everyone, with the advances in modern technology you can now get yourself a timer switch and enjoy stress -free hot water for ever more.
2) Keep and eye on your energy usage. Now I don’t mean you have to be a fanatic about it, no need to park yourself in front of the electricity meter for hours on end watching the numbers roll by. An easy way to do it is to sign up for online billing which lets you track your electricity usage over time (and also means less paper; another thing that’s good for the environment and good for clutter-control at home too).
3) The best things in life are free. Never a truer word said. Love, laughter, fun, friends, family, facebook chat, and now you can add the HALO home energy audit to that list. There’s plenty of good reasons to get this done like.. making your home more energy efficient will increase it’s value, save you money on your bills, reduce your carbon foot print..oh and did I mention it’s free?
4) Lightbulbs – might not be the most interesting of topics to be going on about but by making a simple switch to energy saving lightbulbs you will be doing your bit for the environment and saving money at the same time. Click here to see just what you can save.
5) For the full picture, take the tour of ESB Customer Supply’s virtual energy efficient house to find out exactly how you can save energy in every room. It’s full of loads of hints and tips including the 30 minute rule (not to be confused with the 30 second rule)!
Happy energy saving,
Des
